Pre conference tour
With exquisite costal scenery, beautiful weather and a world famous wine region delegates explored the picturesque Margaret River, in Western Australia. Delegates were treated to a wine tasting session at the Cellar Door followed by a three-course degustation lunch at be beautiful Wills Domain, overlooking 60 hectares of rolling hills in the north of the Margaret River.
With a full belly, delegates visited Prevelly surf beach and the River Mouth before making their way to the Pullman Bunker Bay Resort where they settled in for the evening. As the sun rose, delegates spent the morning in site tours before having lunch at the Dolphin Discovery Centre and boarding the coach back to the Perth CBD.
Day One
With a reputation as one of the world’s friendliest cities, delegates spent the day sightseeing the city of Perth before making their way to the Perth Convention and Exhibition Centre to formally kick off the evening’s conference program. Delegates were greeted at registration with a glass of champagne, mingled with sponsors and joined a Pecha Kucha session which ultimately would spark ideas that flowed throughout the next three days!
Day Two
As delegates awoke in the luxurious accommodation at the InterContinental Perth, they enjoyed a full hot buffet breakfast at Asuca restaurant to start the day.
Throughout the course of the morning, delegates heard from compelling keynote speakers and participated in a unique workshop environment which saw four concurrent workshops successfully delivered within the main plenary space. After devouring a lunch spread consisting of falafels, fresh fruit, locally sourced barramundi and assorted sweets delegates visited sponsors at the trade exhibition before hitting the road for an action packed afternoon of site visits.
Following a day of dynamic learning, delegates flocked to the Art Gallery of Western Australia where they marvelled at the exhibition, shared a glass of wine, caught up with friends and indulged in a hand-selected assortment of canapes.
Day Three
Morning three in the world’s friendliest city started with site visits showcasing innovative schools and universities along with touring parts of the city that underwent major changes in recent years. Delegates finished the afternoon with interactive workshop sessions allowing them to get up close and personal with leaders in the field! As day three drew to a close, delegates were quick to glam up for an evening of fun at one of Perth’s most spectacular venues.
Fraser’s Restaurant played host for the Awards Ceremony & Gala Dinner. With floor to ceiling windows and 180 degree views of Perth, delegates, partners and sponsors spent a luxurious evening celebrating in style!
Day Four
As the last day fell upon us, delegates grabbed one final coffee from the barista cart, spent one final morning tea break visiting the trade exhibition and buckled in for the morning, yearning to absorb the final learnings from the day. Treated to a captivating final keynote presentation by John Hattie and a fiery panel discussion between four leaders in their field delegates were left invigorated and inspired to bundle there learnings from the last four days and share their experiences when they touched back at home.
As the MC drew the final curtain down on the 2019 conference, delegates said there final goodbyes to old friends, new friends and to the world’s friendliest city.
